Please register to be on one of our travel teams. 

 

Important - travel teams are designed for BH-BL students looking to develop the skills and knowledge to work toward playing on one of the school team when they age up to 7th grade. No experience is necessary to player travel. However, the expectations of players is to take the practices and games seriously and work towards improving their skills and knowledge of basketball. The games are very fun, but are competitive. If you are just interested in recreational basketball for your daughter, there traditionally is the Spartan Junior camp offered later in the fall for December and January sessions.  

 

Teams from 4th grade up to the Junior level play in the Capital District Girls Basketball League(CDGBL). The CDGBL is a league of school districts youth teams, mostly the Suburban Council schools, playing against each other at each age groups. It's a fantastic way for players from all schools in the league to develop the ability to compete against other players and teams out of the Burnt Hills district. All games are in the capital district area and on weekends only. 

 

Practices expected to start at the beginning of October and end in February.

 

Practices days are bring finalized now. Days will be announced in later September.  

 

Games usually start last week in October or first week in November. Game schedule usually released by the CDGBL in late October.

 

Teams grades 3 to Junior level need game uniforms. If a returning player has an uniform that fits from last season, you are not required to purchase a new uniform. If a player needs a new uniform, they are estimated to cost around $80. 

 

Season fees and uniform payments are not due until end of September after teams are formed. No money is due at registration. 

 

 

2ND GRADE TEAM

  - 1 PRACTICE A WEEK 

- Cost $190, includes practice jersey

- No games scheduled and not part of the CDGBL.  However,  there may be a few friendly game opportunities for the 2nd graders in January and February if the coaches decide the players are ready for games. 

 

 

3rd GRADE TEAM

  - 1-2 PRACTICES A WEEK 

- Cost $270, includes practice jersey and warm-up shirt

Games uniforms needed to be purchased separately

- CDGBL does not have this level.  However, we are pursuing making the 3rd grade team play in CYO and multiple exhibition games. 

 

 

 

4th GRADE TEAM

  - 2 PRACTICES A WEEK

- Cost $300, includes practice jersey and warm-up shirt

Games uniforms needed to be purchased separately

- Games on weekends.

 

 

 

BIDDY A and BIDDY B TEAMS

- Combined level for 6th and 5th grades

- Cost $300, includes practice jersey and warm-up shirt

Games uniforms needed to be purchased separately

- Games on weekends.

 

 

JUNIOR  TEAMS

- Junior team(s) is the 8th and 7th grade team

- If there is enough players for two teams, we will make Junior A and Junior B teams, where Junior A is the "A" level team for the stronger players in the grades.

 

  - NO PRACTICES AS 8TH AND 7TH GRADERS ARE SCHOOL PLAYERS DURING THE WEEK. HOWEVER, THERE WILL BE SUNDAY EVENING PRACTICES IN OCTOBER AND EARLY NOVEMBER BEFORE THE SCHOOL BASKETBALL SEASON STARTS FOR THE PLAYERS.

- Cost $175, includes warm-up shirt

Games uniforms needed to be purchased separately

- this teams only play games on weekends.
